DR. HAFEEL
With generations of Ayurveda as his foundation, and being groomed under renowned Ayurvedic philosophers and clinicians, Dr. Hafeel Ambalath holds a Bachelors in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from the Coimbatore Ayurvedic College and comes with extensive experience in health research and methodologies.
During his clinical years, Dr. Hafeel was associated with organizations such as LSPSS and FRLHT (Foundation for Revitalization of Local Health Traditions) where his multidisciplinary research spearheaded projects looking into participatory research methods. This included topics ranging from local health traditions, bone-setting traditions to nerve regeneration.
He has coordinated a project funded by DANIDA, ETC-COMPAS, with Department of Environment & Forests, India. This was one of the largest projects on documentation of health traditions, natural resources, and culture in the southern states of India.
He was a gateway for the traditional medicine interns of the Oxford Medical School and is adjunct faculty at the University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences, Bengaluru.
Dr. Hafeel has also been an honorary contributor to TCAM policy building in the UAE.
He is one of the very few physicians who has rich and varied experience across the wide spectrum of social research, development of health policies, and practice of traditional medicine. He comes with deep insight into local health cultures and their world views.
